Auction 115 features a variety of collectible titles.
Lot 1 is a first edition, mixed issue of Dickens' second novel OLIVER TWIST.
There are a number of titles written or translated by the famous Victorian Explorer and Linguist Sir Richard Burton. These include articles he wrote about his expedition to Zanzibar and East Africa for Blackwood's Magazine, as well as his translation of the Arabic Folktales THE BOOK OF THE THOUSAND NIGHTS AND A NIGHT, amongst others.
There are two of Sir Percy Fitzpatrick's books - a first edition of his well known tale JOCK OF THE BUSHVELD as well as, and scarcely found, his first book THOUGH MASHONALAND WITH PICK & PEN. This describes a controversial tour made by Lord Randolph Churchill (Winston Churchill's father) through Mashonaland. Fitzpatrick could not pay the printing bill for the book and consequently most copies were destroyed.
Talking of Winston Churchill, Auction 115 is selling his handsomely bound, first UK edition, THE SECOND WORLD WAR.
