Bernard Quaritch 2023 Summer Internship Programme
London-based dealer Bernard Quaritch is again running its paid summer internship programme and is now inviting applications for a maximum of two full-time positions, each for a minimum of four weeks.
The internship usually runs between July and September during normal weekday working hours. Interns will gain experience of bookselling at the prestigious antiquarian book dealers which has been selling rare books and manuscripts since 1847, in paraticular items relating to the history of ideas, science, travel, and literature in both modern and ancient languages.
Applicants need to be fluent English speakers/writers (a second language is also helpful), demonstrate a keen interest in the book trade, be knowledgeable about at least one of the dealer's main subject areas, and comfortable in a business environment.
As well as providing research and cataloguing support to the booksellers over the premises' five floors, duties include answering the telephone, welcoming visitors, helping with packing, deliveries, photography, and various additional administrative duties.
