The Ephemera Society of America's flagship event next month will feature more than 10,000 items including advertisements, baseball cards, rare maps, playbills, banknotes, sheet music, luggage tags, and wood engravings.
Produced and managed by Sanford L. Smith + Associates, this 45th iteration will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, March 15 - March 16. It coincides with ESA’s annual conference, this year on the theme of 'Invention and Innovation' on March 14.
"This year’s fair offers something for everyone," said Michael Peich, Vice President of The Ephemera Society of America, "blending a mix of longtime returning dealers and exciting newcomers. Our annual conference provides a unique opportunity to delve into the profound impact of ephemera on our day-to-day lives and offers an excellent introduction to ESA membership."
As the largest ephemera event in the U.S., the fair will welcome more than 60 exhibitors from across the country, including Evie Eysenburg Ephemera, aGatherin', and Stephen Resnick. While many exhibitors have been part of the fair since its inception, the event continues to draw new dealers.
Conference events include:
- March 13: Curating the Chaos: Organizing the Ephemera Collection at the William L. Clements Library with Annika Dekker
- March 14: Documenting American Design: Ephemera at the Winterthur Library with Rebecca Parmer
- March 15: Silent Bid Auction and Ephemera 45 Banquet
The Ephemera Society of America is a non-profit organization formed in 1980 to cultivate and encourage interest in ephemera and the history identified with it.
