Video Fridays: The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry

The first trailer for the forthcoming adaptation of The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry has been released by Vertical Entertainment, and it looks delightful. Slated to hit theaters on October 7, the film, based on the 2014 bestseller by Gabrielle Zevin, stars Kunal Nayyar, Lucy Hale, Christina Hendricks, and David Arquette. The setting is a lovely bookshop on a New England island (we’ve heard scenes were filmed at Parnassus Book Service in Yarmouthport). As in the novel, the bookshop owner’s wife dies, and then his rare edition of Poe is stolen, which sets in motion a series of surprising events that will bring him a new lease on life.
