Seager Gray Gallery Presents Artist Book Collaboration Prior to CODEX
Seager Gray Gallery, in Mill Valley, California, presents Trace, an exhibition of works by Shift-Lab, a collaborative group of artists working in the print and artist book media. The artists include Katie Baldwin, Denise Bookwalter, Sarah Bryant, Macy Chadwisk and Tricia Treacy. Trace is a set of maps: a large collaborative map and five smaller maps by each individual artist, that fold into single sheet books. A series of framed prints, printed ephemera, a digitally printed newspaper, and sound file accompany the work. Trace utilizes a range of media including embroidery, letterpress, risograph, processing software, screenprint, and video/audio capture. The exhibition will run from February 1 to February 28 with a reception for the artists on Saturday, February 4 from 5:30 to 7:30.
The exhibition comes as a celebration of Codex, the Biennial fair beginning the following day at the Craneway Pavilion celebrating the book as a medium for art with exhibitors from around the globe.
