Rare Baseball Card Sets Lead Heritage's Fall Sports Auction

A complete set of 1968 Topps baseball cards leads the October 4 - 6 sale at Heritage Auctions, a 598-card collection with 517 of its cards graded Gem Mint 10 and the remaining 81 Mint 9s.

The ’68 Topps set features the highly popular Nolan Ryan rookie card, as well as Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Harmon Killebrew and Frank Robinson.

Other highlights include: 

* the wax box of 1961 Fleer basketball cards, whose 24 packs could contain the rookie cards of Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor and Jerry West, plus a wax box of 1986 Fleer basketball cards which might include Michael Jordan’s official rookie card

* Mickey Mantle’s 1952 Topps card which appears several times in the auction

* a nearly complete set of the 1968 Topps baseball collection (the only missing card belongs to Clemente) with every one of its 607 cards PSA-graded but also autographed by Mantle, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Tom Seaver, Frank Robinson and Nolan Ryan

* four set breaks featuring 1966 Topps baseball, 1975 Topps baseball, 1959 Topps football, and 1958 Topps football
