Lincoln, Trotsky, Darwin, and Einstein Lead Fine Autographs Auction

Nearly 900 lots are featured in RR Auction's upcoming Apil Fine Autographs and Artifacts sale, featuring nearly 900 lots of items from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Highlights include two Abraham Lincoln items. The first is a rare Lincoln check dated February 16, 1859, payable to Johnson & Bradford for $72.10. Also going under the hammer are naval documents signed by Lincoln and James Buchanan.
Other highlights include:
- a publishing contract signed by Leon Trotsky for The History of the Russian Revolution, initialled 14 times by Trotsky and pioneering publisher Albert Boni
- an Albert Einstein signed letter discussing experiments related to his Special Theory of Relativity
- a Charles Darwin signed letter on "the new English edition of The Origin"
- a letter by Martin Luther King, Jr. addressing segregation in higher education
Other notable autographs featured in the sale include George Washington, John Hancock, Napoleon Bonaparte, Winston Churchill, Mohandas Gandhi, Bob Dylan, and the Beatles.
