Hindman presents its Summer Reading: 20th-Century Literature and Biography from a Private Collection sale later this month, featuring first editions from some of the most iconic authors of the 20th century.
With strong offerings in fiction and biography, this private collection offers everything from classics to fantasy to politics including a first edition, first issue of William Faulkner's As I Lay Dying (NY: Jonathan Cape, 1930) which has an estimate of $3,500 - $4,500.
The auction features first editions (many signed) by noted authors of the 20th century including: Douglas Adams, T.C. Boyle, Michael Crichton, Don DeLillo, Joan Didion, James Ellroy, John Fowles, Jonathan Franzen, Allen Ginsberg, Sue Grafton, Joseph Heller, Ernest Hemingway, John Irving, Ken Kesey, Stephen King, John Le Carré, Ursula Le Guin, Elmore Leonard, Doris Lessing, Ed McBain, Ian McEwan, Larry McMurtry, Walter Mosley, Mario Puzo, Anne Rice, Salman Rushdie, John Steinbeck, John Updike, and Kurt Vonnegut.
