Flamingo Eventz Announces Book Fair Schedule Changes
Rochester, NH—January 1, 2015: Who says this is the time to tighten our belts! In a bold move that completely bucks the current trend, Flamingo Eventz, LLC is proud to announce that they are making some major changes to their Schedule and expanding nationally in this curious economy of ours!
According to Company President, Tina Bruno: “We’re starting our 21st year in show promotion and are entering a new phase of the business—promotion of Vintage Poster, Print & Photography Fairs. This is the natural evolution of our shows which have gone from antiques & collectibles to vintage books & paper to ephemera. Friends of ours have been promoting highly successful International Vintage Poster Fairs for a number of years and, to steal a line from one of my favorite movies…’They made us an offer we couldn’t refuse.’
We are very pleased to announce that we have assumed management of the New York, Chicago & San Francisco International Vintage Poster Fairs previously managed by David Pollack & Gail Chisholm. Under their guidance, these shows have grown to include World-Class Exhibitors from the United States, Canada, Great Britain, and Europe, and offer the finest original vintage posters of all genres and styles. These shows are fully vetted for authenticity by the International Vintage Poster Dealers Association (IVPDA).
Both parties emphasize that there will be no disruptions in operation of the shows as a result of this arrangement. Booth assignments will be retained and the Poster Fair website, PosterFair.com, will remain. Additionally, both Ms. Chisholm and Mr. Pollack will remain as exhibitors and consultants at the shows. Ms. Bruno emphasized that all the familiar and expected Flamingo features will be added, along with a move to expand the Fairs to include fine Vintage Prints and Photography. This change in management will begin with the next scheduled show; The Chicago International Vintage Poster Fair set for March 27-29, 2015 at the Chicago Cultural Center. But wait, there’s more… In 2009 we introduced the Manhattan Vintage Book & Ephemera Fair as the Shadow Show to the well-known and established New York Antiquarian Book Fair in the NY State Armory on Park Avenue. We established our show in The Altman Building on 18th Street and, while a bit of a trip from the uptown Armory, it has grown to become a highly successful show - both as a Shadow Show to the Armory and as a stand-alone show on its own. Last year we introduced the Fine Press Book Fair as a companion show within the show to great acclaim. But, as is always the case when you least expect it an opportunity to move was presented.
We are very pleased to announce that we have moved these shows to a fabulous new location directly across the street from the NY State Armory—The Church of St. Vincent Ferrer, 869 Lexington Avenue at 66th Street. This places us just across the street from the Lexington Avenue entrance to the Armory and affords us the opportunity to have all exhibitors in one large room on a street level entrance! This move will offer both our Exhibitors and Customers an unparalleled shopping opportunity! The date for these shows is Saturday April 11, 2015.
Just one more thing…. With this expansion to National shows and the expansion to an International Exhibitor & Customer base, we have retained the services of a Public Relations Agency with extensive experience in marketing antique shows, vintage book & ephemera fairs, and vintage poster fairs to oversee marketing and advertising of all our shows. This will further enhance our existing efforts and move our shows to a whole new level.
