Edgar Allan Poe’s Tales of Mystery and Imagination: Rare Book of the Week
Later this week The Folio Society will publish a limited edition of Edgar Allan Poe’s Tales of Mystery and Imagination to coincide with the 175th anniversary of Poe’s death in October 1849.
Tales of Mystery and Imagination is a collection of some of the author’s most haunting and atmospheric stories including The Tell-Tale Heart, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Pit and the Pendulum, and The Murder in the Rue Morgue.
This new edition features an exclusive new introduction by award-winning horror writer Joe Hill, and illustrations by Folio Book Illustration Award competition winner Evangeline Gallagher. It is quarter-bound in leather and features a bloody human heart on the binding. The volume is enclosed within a box designed to look like a human rib cage. This exclusive edition is also accompanied by a booklet printing of Poe’s poem The Raven printed using hot-metal setting and hand-sewn using red thread and black Twist paper covers. It has been signed by introducer and illustrator.
Tales of Mystery and Imagination will be available on October 31 exclusively via The Folio Society at £450.
