Colorado Springs, CO — CABS-Minnesota has announced that it is currently accepting applications for its Diverse Voices Fellowship program. CABS-Minnesota seeks to build a cohort of five fellows who are interested in learning more about the antiquarian and rare book trade and who have found themselves distanced from the trade by reason of race, gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, and/or income. The fellowship may be of interest to a variety of constituencies, including booksellers, collectors, librarians, archivists, museum professionals, and graduate students.

“This is a vital initiative that we believe will benefit participating fellows and the antiquarian book trade, as well as the cultural heritage and bookselling communities at large,” noted Lorne Bair, director of CABS-Minnesota.

The fellowship offers a program of professional and career development designed around fellows’ interests in the antiquarian book trade. Fellowship activities include a two-day field school in New York City with opportunities to meet with antiquarian and rare booksellers, as well as a week-long seminar in Minnesota about selling antiquarian and rare books. Travel, lodging, and meals for these events will be funded by the fellowship.

Applications for the fellowship will be accepted until December 10, 2021. Further information about the fellowship, including application instructions, are available on the CABS-Minnesota website at bookseminars.com/fellowship.php.
