The eighth annual Bodies From The Library conference at the British Library takes place on June 24 and there's still time to obtain last minute tickets.
As in previous years, the conference celebrates the Golden Age of Detective Fiction so will be of interest to fans of Agatha Christie and contemporaries such as Ngaio Marsh, Dorothy L Sayers, John Dickson Carr, Margery Allingham, and the Detection Club, as well to those interested in discovering forgotten authors from the period.
The one day conference features a programme of discussions, presentations and panels. Sessions include
* Tarnished, with crime novelist Simon Brett and Len Tyler who discuss their least favourite products of the Golden Age
* Martin Edwards, President of the Detection Club and consultant to the bestselling British Library Crime Classics, in conversation with Chrissie Poulson on The Strange Case of the Singleton: One-off crime novels
* Tony Medawar on Wise Guy: The Life and Work of S S. Van Dine
* Kate Jackson discusses her new book How to Survive a Classic Crime Novel with Jake Kerridge
* John Curran looks at The Train in Golden Age Fiction
