Bob Dylan Artwork and Jim Morrison Handwritten Lyrics to Auction

RR Auction

Jim Morrison's handwritten lyrics for The Doors' song L'America

RR Auction's Marvels of Modern Music auction features more than 250 items including Led Zeppelin autographs, art by Bob Dylan, and Jim Morrison's handwritten lyrics for The Doors' song L'America.

Dylan's View from Two Windows, created in 2007 for his Drawn Blank Series, is in gouache and mixed media on artist paper, signed below in paint by Dylan. The work depicts the inside of an upper-story room viewed from the perspective of a standing observer, with the foreground composed of a table, chair, and a television set, and the background featuring a large beige curtain and a pair of multi-paned windows that look down upon a house, greenery, and what appears to be a body of water.

Adding a punk aesthetic to the mix are two artworks by Dee Dee Ramone. One standout piece is an original Campbell's Soup Can painting. The large, flat image of Campbell's Condensed Tomato Soup is a playful homage to Andy Warhol's iconic works. Ramone's intricately detailed Oranges artwork, featuring a central figure surrounded by a plethora of boxed words and phrases, is executed in acrylic paint on stretched canvas.
