Applications Now Open for York Antiquarian Book Seminar 2024
Organisers of the ninth iteration of the York Antiquarian Book Seminar (YABS) are now seeking applications for places on its highly respected annual seminar in Yorkshire.
YABS is the sister seminar of the Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar and was set up with its support. The 2024 event is again organised by The Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association’s and the YABS Committee, with the support of The Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association. This year it runs September 8 - 12.
The York Antiquarian Book Seminar is held in the heart of the city and provides the chance for expert librarians and booksellers to pass on their knowledge of all aspects of the the rare book market to booksellers and collectors of all levels of experience. Full details have yet to be confirmed, but seminars include formal and informal events, lectures, discussions, and workshops covering subjects such as cataloguing, pricing, and other aspects of bookselling. A bookshop and printed press tour will be among the 2024 events.
The price will be £650 and includes four days of lectures and demonstrations, instructional materials/books, tours, plus daily lunches and refreshments. A number of scholarships are available to cover attendees' course fee costs, and some also cover accommodation - more details here.
