With close to 400 lots, auction includes some outstanding highlights such as, the complete copy of John Speed’s Prospect of the Most Famous Parts of the World, a 17th century pocket atlas, A Tabularum Geographical Contractarum Libri Septem by Dutch cartographer Petrus Berties (1565-1629), and one of the great English botanical books featured in the sale is Flora Londinensis by William Curtis, a folio-sized book published in parts between 1777-98 that describes the botany found in and around London in the 1700s.
Also featured is a large number of rare London maps, headed by two 1827 first edition copies of the detailed maps surveyed by brother Christopher and John Greenwood and engraved by James and Josiah Neele.
