Swann Auction Galleries Sale #2724: Spanning five centuries of publication, this sale includes a large selection of maps of North America, many documenting the early development of the United States, each providing a glimpse into the country's evolving boundaries, fascinating as ever as we approach the 250-year mark of national independence. Herman Moll's iconic depiction of the colonies in 1715, affectionately known as "The Beaver Map" and Cornelis de Jode's Americae pars Borealis from 1593 highlight the category.

A strong group of nineteenth-century American-produced atlases by the likes of Finley, Lucas, Tanner, and Reid will be available, along with a varied selection of unique and interesting pictorial and manuscript maps, ornithological prints by Catesby and Audubon, a book on monkeys, Mughal miniatures, and an assortment of fun items on topics from canals to comets.
