Continuing a 30-year tradition the “shadow fair” returns again to the Hilton Boston Back Bay where 45 outstanding antiquarian book, ephemera and photo dealers will showcase for sale their finest offerings. Special items on offer will include a very fine first edition copy of Sailing Alone Around the World by Joshua Slocum (Town’s End Books, Deep River,CT), extensive offerings of White Mountains material (Mori Books), a fine six-volume Gottsberger imprint 1886 first English translation of War and Peace (Wiggins Fine Books ABAA) an abundance of rare Americana material by William Hutchison, Peter Luke, Curt Wendler, Jim Arsenault, and others, along with a wide selection of vernacular photographs and albums from well-known dealers such as House of Mirth and Erin Waters Fine Photography. Also exhibiting will be The Country Bookshop from Plainfield, Vermont with a wide selection of regional history, literature and Americana. Peter Masi will offer his usual wide and eclectic mix of pamphlets and books on innumerable subjects and Enchanted Books will arrive from Brooklyn with an enchanting variety of children’s books. Travel books will be available in abundance from The Complete Traveller from CT. All in all, the fair will be one of the most diverse in decades.
