The last auction for 2024 features a collection of scarce Botanical Books. These include a finely bound copy of Dillenius (Johann Jakob), HORTUS ELTHAMENSIS SEU PLANTARUM RARIORUM QUAS IN HORTO SUO ELTHAMI IN CANTIO COLIUT.... London, 1732, First Edition. It has been described as "the most important book to be published in England during the eighteenth century on plant growing in a private garden" (Henrey, B., British Botanical and Horticultural Literature before 1800, Volume II. page 265). Starting at a reserve price of $3500.
Also, Tournefort (Joseph Pitton de), INSTITUTIONES REI HERBARIAE, Editio Altera, Gallica Longe Auctior. Quingentis circiter Tabulis aneis adornata, Paris, 1700, First Edition.
