This facsimile exhibition covers the life and work of Amy Lowell (1874–1925), a controversial, cigar-smoking, outspoken, Pulitzer Prize-winning poet who was also a major collector of rare books and manuscripts. One of the few women competing in the male-dominated world of collecting at the turn of the twentieth century, she formed an astonishing collection that she bequeathed to Harvard, some of which is housed in the room that bears her name.
