Diverse Voices Fellowship Call For New Applications
Colorado Springs, CO — CABS-Minnesota has announced that it is currently accepting applications for its 2023 Diverse Voices Fellowship program. The fellowship is designed for individuals with an interest in the used and rare bookselling profession who have found themselves distanced from the profession by reason of race, gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, and/or income.
The annual fellowship is now in its second year. The 2022 Diverse Voices Fellows included booksellers Jaime Harker, Warren Lee, Katie Mitchell, and Michelle Walton, as well as collector Nahid Khan. “The inaugural Fellows were an impressive group, and we deeply enjoyed working with them. We look forward to selecting another talented cohort for the 2023 fellowship, and we encourage all individuals with an interest in learning about used and rare bookselling to apply,” noted Lorne Bair, director of CABS-Minnesota.
The fellowship will offer a program of professional and career development on used and rare bookselling to five individuals. Fellowship activities will include a two-day field school in Atlanta, Georgia; a week-long seminar in Minnesota; and a variety of virtual events. The cost of travel, lodging, and meals for fellowship activities is covered by the program.
Applications for the 2023 Diverse Voices Fellowship will be accepted until November 6, 2022. Further information about the fellowship, including application instructions, are available on the CABS-Minnesota website.
